About us

Northern Wings Group

Our predecessor was established in 1979 as an aviation consultancy, identifying route opportunities, providing fleet planning and budgeting services to the U.S. regional/commuter airline industry following the passage of the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978.  In the late 1990s, as the U.S market consolidated with the adoption of FAA Part 119 which curtailed new entry into the 10-30 seat scheduled segment, we began to focus on overseas opportunities.

Whether the client was an ATR-42 operator in Australia, a Boeing B-737 operator in Chile or a Beechcraft B-1900 operator in Morocco, our experience in North America allowed us to help meet the challenges of a competitive global marketplace.

Our clients have included Airline Owners & Management, Aircraft Lessors & Manufacturers, Community Economic Development Agencies and Tour Operators, as well as Private Individuals exploring the possibilities of acquiring an aircraft or starting an Air Taxi, Airline, Fixed Base Operation (FBO) or Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO).

Our Team

Our team of aviation professionals is headed by John Gallichon, (English/French/Spanish) with more than 45 years of worldwide experience in aviation.  He brings a knowledge of all aspects of running an airline and its visible components from air carrier certification, aircraft acquisition, route selection, network marketing, maintenance, pilot training and rostering to managing the more opaque challenges of raising capital, cash flow, seasonality, regulation, and adversity.  Through his involvement with aircraft acquisition comes the experience with arranging financing, operating leases, tax-leveraged packaging, and lease portfolio managements as well as workouts, as leased aircraft become an ever larger percentage of the global fleet of Commercial Aircraft.

Marta Gritsak (Ukrainian/Russian/Spanish) assists with airline modeling, route profitability analysis and fleet planning. Diana Gavilan (Spanish/Portuguese/English) is experienced in the development of Air Carrier Manuals and Training Programs to ICAO 5-Phase Certification Standards.

For Safety Audits and SMS Program Assessments, we rely on a capable professional who spearheaded IOSA certification and SMS program development for several South American airlines in full conformity with IATA Safety Audit Standards and Latin American Regulations.

For Flight Operations Assessments, Line Oriented Flight Training, Pilot Training Program Management,  we contract ATP-rated former management pilots or retired inspectors familiar with the regulatory standards and operational requirements for the type of operation in the country involved.

Aircraft Inspections, including Pre-Delivery / Entry Into Service inspections (EIS), and supervision of Major Structural Repairs for Airline and Insurance clients are performed under contract by a former Director of Quality Assurance of a larger U.S. Part 121 Air Carrier.

We contract, as needed,  with DAR / DERs licensed by FAA, EASA and several Latin American countries for Aircraft Repair Certification & Export/Import.

We have developed a network of trusted key suppliers of Air Services and Maintenance & Repair Services, in good standing with local civil aviation authorities.
